About Chitwan

Nepal has 17 national parks, wildlife reserves and conservation areas, occupying 18% of its total geographical area. Therefore, a trip to
Nepal without wildlife or popularly known as Jungle Safari is incomplete. The protected areas for wildlife in the north boast some of the highest peaks in the world including Mount Everest, whereas, the tropical jungles of the Terai or plains are well known for unparallel wildlife habitat in the world. These wildlife habitats can be toured on elephant back, jeep drive, dugout canoe. Moreover, nature walk or jungle walk is another way of experiencing the wilderness in its proximity.

A trip to Nepal is incomplete if you have not been on a jungle safari. While the mountains of the north boast some of the highest and most magnificent peaks in the world, the tropical jungles of the Terai still preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. Some of these rich wildlife habitats are now protected and can be toured on elephant back, 4WD, dugout canoe or on foot. Jungle safaris on elephant back or Jeep rides are offered at the Parsa Wildlife Reserve, Royal Bardia National Park, Royal Chitwan National Park and the Royal Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve.
